Oreo rice crispy treats
I haven't met a kid who doesn't like rice crispy treats. My kids like the original kind, the yogurt kind and now this one. I first had it when a friend made a batch, I usually don't like rice crispy treats, but these are soooooooooooooo goooooood. So when my son had a friend over for a play date I thought these would be great since he has dairy and nut allergies and this would safe for him to have. also, its a great activity to do with kids.
I searched for a recipe and found a couple that I tweaked to make these.
Ingredients:
Two rows of Oreo cookies, roughly chopped. You could use the whole packet if you want.
2 tablespoon of coconut oil, I used Trader Joe's organic coconut oil
One 8 oz package of marshmallows.
5 cups of rice krispie cereal
white chocolate, melted (omit if you want to keep it dairy free)
Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Heat a pan and add the marshmallows and coconut oil, stir constantly till melted. Add the cereal and mix well. Spread mixture into the pan and press it down with a spatula and spread evenly. Let it cool and cut to desired size.
I kept some pieces aside and then drizzled chocolate on the rest.
